Becky: I don’t know the policy of wordpress.com, nor do I particularly care about it. Besides, there are other free hosts that let you do more.

I’m sure that there are, but which do you suppose he’s going to use? A site with a blogging system he feels comfortable with (I’m taking a big leap and assuming that he is one of the mindless drones who enjoys using WordPress in spite of its failings) or something new and foreign is the natural choice.
